15 And Jehovah appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud: and the pillar of cloud stood [a]over the door of the Tent. 16 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the harlot after the strange gods of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. 17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

15 Then the Lord appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the cloud stood over the entrance to the tent.(A) 16 And the Lord said to Moses: “You are going to rest with your ancestors,(B) and these people will soon prostitute(C) themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake(D) me and break the covenant I made with them. 17 And in that day I will become angry(E) with them and forsake(F) them; I will hide(G) my face(H) from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters(I) and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, ‘Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?’(J)
