³⁹ See now that I alone am He;
there is no God but Me.^(A)
I bring death and I give life;
I wound and I heal.
No one can rescue anyone from My hand.^(B)

⁶ The Lord brings death and gives life;^(A)
He sends some to Sheol, and He raises others up.^(B)

6 Come, let us return to the Lord.^(A)
For He has torn us,^(B)
and He will heal us;^(C)
He has wounded us,
and He will bind up our wounds.^(D)
