Israel Urged to Obey God’s Law

4 “Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which ^(A)I am teaching you to perform, so that ^(B)you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

¹⁶ ‘^(A)Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

^29 (A)Oh that they had such a heart in them, that they would fear Me and ^(B)keep all My commandments always, that ^(C)it may be well with them and with their sons forever!

^33 (A)You shall walk in all the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.

³ O Israel, you should listen and ^[a]be careful to do it, that ^(A)it may be well with you and that you may multiply greatly, just as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in ^(B)a land flowing with milk and honey.

¹⁸ You shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that ^(A)it may be well with you and that you may go in and possess the good land which the Lord swore to give your fathers,

²⁵ You shall not eat it, so that ^(A)it may be well with you and your sons after you, for ^(B)you will be doing what is right in the sight of the Lord.

²⁸ “Be careful to listen to all these words which I command you, so that ^(A)it may be well with you and your sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

⁷ you shall certainly let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, ^(A)in order that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.
