¹³ He declared his covenant^(A) to you. He commanded you to follow the Ten Commandments,^(B) which he wrote on two stone tablets.^(C)

²³ Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you, and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of anything he has forbidden you.

² The Lord our God made a covenant^(A) with us at Horeb. ³ He did not make this covenant with our ancestors,^(B) but with all of us who are alive here today.

The Judicial Procedure for Idolatry

² “If a man or woman among you in one of your towns that the Lord your God will give you is discovered doing evil in the sight of the Lord your God and violating his covenant^(A)

Renewing the Covenant

29 These are the words of the covenant^(A) that the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in the land of Moab, in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Horeb.^(B)

⁹ Therefore, observe the words of this covenant^(A) and follow them, so that you will succeed in everything you do.^(B)

¹⁰ “All of you are standing today before the Lord your God—your leaders, tribes, elders, officials, all the men of Israel, ¹¹ your dependents, your wives, and the resident aliens in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water— ¹² so that you may enter into the covenant of the Lord your God, which he is making with you today, so that you may enter into his oath ¹³ and so that he may establish you today as his people and he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.^{(C) 14} I am making this covenant and this oath not only with you,

²¹ and single him out for harm from all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.

²⁵ Then people will answer, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, which he had made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
