¹⁹ And take heed, lest you ^(A)lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, ^(B)all the host of heaven, you feel driven to ^(C)worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God has ^[a]given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.

⁵ Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem, and those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the ^[a]constellations, and to ^(A)all the host of heaven.

¹¹ Then he removed the horses that the kings of Judah had ^[a]dedicated to the sun, at the entrance to the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nathan-Melech, the officer who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

¹⁷ But we will certainly do ^(A)whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the ^(B)queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of ^[a]food, were well-off, and saw no trouble.
