²⁵ “When you father children and children's children, and have grown old in the land, ^(A)if you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and ^(B)by doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger,

¹⁸ Then I ^(A)lay prostrate before the Lord ^(B)as before, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all the sin that you had committed, ^(C)in doing what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger.

⁷ Moreover, the word of the Lord came by the prophet ^(A)Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and also because ^(B)he destroyed it.
