^28 (A)There you will serve gods, the work of man’s hands, ^(B)wood and stone, ^(C)which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.

^36 (A)The Lord will bring you and your king, whom you set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods, ^(B)wood and stone.

¹⁹ It shall come about ^(A)when ^[a]they say, ‘Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ then you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will ^(B)serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’
