³⁸ to drive out nations greater and more numerous than you from before you,^[a] to bring you and to give to you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. ³⁹ So you shall acknowledge today,^[b] and you must call to mind^[c] that Yahweh is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no other God. ⁴⁰ And you shall keep his rules and his commandments that I am commanding you today,^[d] so that it may go well^[e] for you and for your children^[f] after you, and so that you may remain a long time^[g] on the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you during all of those days.”
