15 Don’t forget that you were slaves in the land of Egypt. The Lord your God brought you out of Egypt with his great power and made you free. That is why the Lord your God commands you to always make the Sabbath a special day.
16 ‘You must honor your father and your mother. The Lord your God has commanded you to do this. If you follow this command, you will live a long time, and everything will go well for you in the land that the Lord your God gives you.
17 ‘You must not murder anyone.

15 Remember that you were slaves(A) in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand(B) and an outstretched arm.(C) Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
16 “Honor your father(D) and your mother,(E) as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long(F) and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
