¹⁶ “‘Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, ^(A)that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

² that ^(A)you may fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son's son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and ^(B)that your days may be long. ³ Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, ^(C)as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁹ and ^(A)that you may live long in the land ^(B)that the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, ^(C)a land flowing with milk and honey.

²⁵ You shall not eat it, ^(A)that all may go well with you and with your children after you, ^(B)when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

²⁸ Be careful to obey all these words that I command you, ^(A)that it may go well with you and with your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.
