⁹ You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, ^(A)inflicting the ^[a]punishment of the fathers on the children, ^[b]even on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

¹⁵ for the Lord your God who is in the midst of you is a ^(A)jealous God; so follow Him, or else the anger of the Lord your God will be kindled against you, and He will ^[a]wipe you off the face of the earth.
