¹⁰ When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,^(A)

²³ But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land he promised on oath to our ancestors.

⁵ It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity^(A) that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness^(B) of these nations,^(C) the Lord your God will drive them out^(D) before you, to accomplish what he swore^(E) to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.^(F)

²⁷ Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Overlook the stubbornness^(A) of this people, their wickedness and their sin.

¹³ to confirm you this day as his people,^(A) that he may be your God^(B) as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

²⁰ and that you may love^(A) the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life,^(B) and he will give^(C) you many years in the land^(D) he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

⁴ Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath^(A) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob^(B) when I said, ‘I will give it^(C) to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross^(D) over into it.”

⁷ The Lord appeared to Abram^(A) and said, “To your offspring^[a] I will give this land.^(B)”^(C) So he built an altar there to the Lord,^(D) who had appeared to him.

¹⁴ The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west.^{(A) 15} All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring^[a] forever.^(B)
