Deuteronomy 8:5-6

⁵Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.

⁶Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

⁵Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.^(A)

⁶Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him^(B) and revering him.^(C)
