³² Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation,^(A) and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.

⁴¹ You will have sons and daughters but you will not keep them, because they will go into captivity.^(A)

³ For this is what the Lord says about the sons and daughters born in this land and about the women who are their mothers and the men who are their fathers:^{(A) 4} “They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried^(B) but will be like dung lying on the ground.^(C) They will perish by sword and famine,^(D) and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”^(E)
