^12 (A)Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has ^(B)chosen as his heritage!

⁶² He ^(A)gave his people over to the sword
    and ^(B)vented his wrath on his heritage.

^14 (A)For the Lord will not forsake his ^(B)people;
    he will not abandon his ^(C)heritage;

¹⁶ Not like these is he who is ^(A)the portion of Jacob,
    for he is the one who formed all things,
^(B)and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance;
    ^(C)the Lord of hosts is his name.
