Ecclesiastes 2:23

²³For ^(A)all his days are full of sorrow, and his ^(B)work is a vexation. Even in the night his heart does not rest. This also is vanity.

New International Version

²³All their days their work is grief and pain;^(A) even at night their minds do not rest.^(B) This too is meaningless.

²^(A)Vanity^[a] of vanities, says ^(B)the Preacher,

Ecclesiastes 1:2 The Hebrew term hebel, translated vanity or vain, refers concretely to a “mist,” “vapor,” or “mere breath,” and metaphorically to something that is fleeting or elusive (with different nuances depending on the context). It appears five times in this verse and in 29 other verses in Ecclesiastes
