²³For all his days are filled with grief, and his occupation is sorrowful;^(A) even at night, his mind does not rest.^(B) This too is futile.

²³All their days their work is grief and pain;^(A) even at night their minds do not rest.^(B) This too is meaningless.

¹²But beyond these, my son, be warned: there is no end to the making of many books,^(A) and much study wearies the body.^(B)

¹²Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.

Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.^(A)
