Ecclesiastes 7:10-12
Legacy Standard Bible

10 Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.
11 Wisdom along with an inheritance is good
And an (A)advantage to those who see the sun.
12 For (B)wisdom is a (C)shadow of protection as money is a shadow of protection,
And the advantage of knowledge is that (D)wisdom preserves the lives of its masters.

New International Version

    For it is not wise to ask such questions.

11 Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing(B)
    and benefits those who see the sun.(C)
12 Wisdom is a shelter
    as money is a shelter,
but the advantage of knowledge is this:
    Wisdom preserves those who have it.
