Ecclesiastes 7:5-7
New American Standard Bible
5 It is better to (A)listen to the rebuke of a wise person
Than for one to listen to the song of fools.
6 For as the [a]crackling of (B)thorn bushes under a pot,
So is the (C)laughter of the fool;
And this too is futility.
7 For (D)oppression makes a wise person look foolish,
And a (E)bribe [b]corrupts the heart.

Ecclesiastes 7:5-7
New International Version
5 It is better to heed the rebuke(A) of a wise person
than to listen to the song of fools.
6 Like the crackling of thorns(B) under the pot,
so is the laughter(C) of fools.
This too is meaningless.
7 Extortion turns a wise person into a fool,
and a bribe(D) corrupts the heart.
