17 (A)Èyí ni Olúwa wí: Nípa èyí ni ìwọ yóò mọ̀ pé èmi ni Olúwa. Wò ó, èmi yóò fi ọ̀pá ti ó wà ní ọwọ́ mi, èmi yóò ná omi tí ó wà nínú odò Naili yóò sì di ẹ̀jẹ̀. 18 Àwọn ẹja tí ó wà nínú odò Naili yóò kú, odò náà yóò sì máa rùn, àwọn ará Ejibiti kò sì ni lè mu omi rẹ̀.’ ”

19 Olúwa sọ fún Mose, “Sọ fún Aaroni, ‘Mú ọ̀pá rẹ kí ó sì na ọwọ́ rẹ jáde lórí àwọn omi Ejibiti. Lórí àwọn odò kéékèèkéé àti odò ńlá, lórí àbàtà àti adágún omi, wọn yóò sì di ẹ̀jẹ̀.’ Ẹ̀jẹ̀ yóò wà ni ibi gbogbo ni Ejibiti, àní nínú ọpọ́n àti nínú kete omi àti nínú ìkòkò tí a pọn omi sí nínú ilé.”

20 Mose àti Aaroni sí ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún wọn. Ó gbé ọ̀pá rẹ̀ sókè ni iwájú Farao àti àwọn ìjòyè rẹ̀, ó sì lu omi odò Naili, omi odò náà sì yípadà sí ẹ̀jẹ̀. 21 Ẹja inú odò Naili sì kú, odò náà ń rùn gidigidi tí ó fi jẹ́ pé àwọn ará Ejibiti kò le è mu omi inú rẹ̀. Ẹ̀jẹ̀ sì wà ni ibi gbogbo ni ilẹ̀ Ejibiti.

17 This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord:(A) With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.(B) 18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink;(C) the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”(D)

19 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff(E) and stretch out your hand(F) over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels[a] of wood and stone.”

20 Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded.(G) He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile,(H) and all the water was changed into blood.(I) 21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.
