19 [a]And what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us, which believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 [b]Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his [c]right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and domination, and every [d]Name, that is named, not in this world only, but also in that that is to come,


  1. Ephesians 1:19 The excellency of faith is declared by the effects, because the mighty power of God is set forth and shown therein.
  2. Ephesians 1:20 The Apostle willeth us to behold in our most glorious Christ with the eye of faith, that most excellent power and glory of God, whereof all the faithful are partakers, although it be as yet very dark in us, by reason of the ignominy of the cross and the weakness of the flesh.
  3. Ephesians 1:20 To be set on God’s right hand, is to be partaker of the sovereignty which he hath over all creatures.
  4. Ephesians 1:21 Everything whatsoever it be, or above all things be they of never such power or excellency.

19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
