5 And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what he wanted and what pleased him. 6 This brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace. God gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One he loves. 7 In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death. And so we have forgiveness of sins because of God’s rich grace.

5 he[a] predestined(A) us for adoption to sonship[b](B) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure(C) and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace,(D) which he has freely given us in the One he loves.(E) 7 In him we have redemption(F) through his blood,(G) the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches(H) of God’s grace
