¹⁴ For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition, ¹⁵ having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace; ¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

²⁰ Neither for these only do I ^[a]pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; ²¹ that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. ²² And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;

⁸ Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; ⁹ and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and ^[a]worship me. ¹⁰ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, ^[b]Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

⁴⁷ And if any man hear my sayings, and keep them not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. ⁴⁹ For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

⁵¹ Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: ⁵² for there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. ⁵³ They shall be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law.
