26 in order to set it apart for God, making it clean through immersion in the mikveh, so to speak, 27 in order to present the Messianic Community to himself as a bride to be proud of, without a spot, wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and without defect. 28 This is how husbands ought to love their wives — like their own bodies; for the man who loves his wife is loving himself.

26 to make her holy,(A) cleansing[a] her by the washing(B) with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself(C) as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.(D) 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives(E) as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
