Ephesians 6:4-6

International Standard Version

⁴Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up by training^[a] and instructing them about the Lord.

Advice for Slaves and Masters

⁵Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear, trembling, and sincerity, as when you obey^[b] the Messiah.^[c] ⁶Do not do this only while you’re being watched in order to please them, but be like slaves of the Messiah,^[d] who are determined to obey God’s will.

New International Version

⁴Fathers,^[a] do not exasperate your children;^(A) instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.^(B)

⁵Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect^(C) and fear, and with sincerity of heart,^(D) just as you would obey Christ.^(E) ⁶Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ,^(F) doing the will of God from your heart.
