Esther 2:18-20
Good News Translation
18 Then the king gave a great banquet in Esther's honor and invited all his officials and administrators. He proclaimed a holiday[a] for the whole empire and distributed gifts worthy of a king.
Mordecai Saves the King's Life
19 Meanwhile Mordecai had been appointed by the king to an administrative position. 20 As for Esther, she had still not let it be known that she was Jewish. Mordecai had told her not to tell anyone, and she obeyed him in this, just as she had obeyed him when she was a little girl under his care.

18 And the king gave a great banquet,(A) Esther’s banquet, for all his nobles and officials.(B) He proclaimed a holiday throughout the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality.(C)
Mordecai Uncovers a Conspiracy
19 When the virgins were assembled a second time, Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate.(D) 20 But Esther had kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai’s instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up.(E)
