^11 [a]In the letters the king granted the Jews who were in each and every city the right ^(A)to assemble and to defend their lives, ^(B)to destroy, kill, and eliminate the entire army of any people or province which was going to attack them, including children and women, and ^(C)to plunder their spoils,

¹⁵ The Jews who were in Susa assembled also on the fourteenth day of the month Adar and killed ^(A)three hundred men in Susa, but ^(B)they did not lay their hands on the plunder.

¹⁶ Now ^(C)the rest of the Jews who were in the king’s provinces ^(D)assembled, to defend their lives and ^[a]rid themselves of their enemies, and to kill seventy-five thousand of those who hated them; but they did not lay their hands on the plunder. ¹⁷ This was done on ^(E)the thirteenth day of the month Adar, and ^(F)on the fourteenth ^[b]day they rested and made it a day of feasting and rejoicing.

¹⁸ But the Jews who were in Susa ^(G)assembled on the thirteenth and ^(H)the fourteenth ^[c]of the same month, and they rested on the fifteenth ^[d]day and made it a day of feasting and rejoicing.
