The Basin. 17 The Lord told Moses: 18 For ablutions you shall make a bronze basin with a bronze stand. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.(A) 19 Aaron and his sons shall use it in washing their hands and feet.(B) 20 When they are about to enter the tent of meeting, they must wash with water, lest they die. Likewise when they approach the altar to minister, to offer an oblation to the Lord, 21 they must wash their hands and feet, lest they die. This shall be a perpetual statute for him and his descendants throughout their generations.

Basin for Washing

17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin,(A) with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet(B) with water(C) from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.(D) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance(E) for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”(F)
