Exodus 1:20-22

20 So (A)God was good to the midwives, and (B)the people multiplied, and became very [a]mighty. 21 And because the midwives [b](C)feared God, He [c](D)established [d]households for them. 22 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “(E)Every son who is born, [e]you are to throw into (F)the Nile, but every daughter, you are to keep alive.”

New International Version
20 So God was kind to the midwives(A) and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared(B) God, he gave them families(C) of their own.
22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile,(D) but let every girl live.”(E)
