¹⁹ Yeast must not be found in your houses for seven days. If anyone eats something leavened, that person, whether a resident alien or native of the land, must be cut off from the community of Israel.

⁴⁹ The same law will apply to both the native and the alien who resides among you.”^(A)

²⁹ “This is to be a permanent statute^(A) for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month you are to practice self-denial^(B) and do no work,^(C) both the native and the alien^(D) who resides among you. ³⁰ Atonement will be made for you on this day to cleanse you,^(E) and you will be clean from all your sins before the Lord. ³¹ It is a Sabbath^(F) of complete rest for you,^(G) and you must practice self-denial; it is a permanent statute.

⁸ “Say to them: Anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens^(A) who reside among them who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice ⁹ but does not bring it to the entrance to the tent of meeting to sacrifice it to the Lord, that person is to be cut off from his people.

Eating Blood and Carcasses Prohibited

¹⁰ “Anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens who reside among them who eats any blood,^(B) I will turn^[a] against that person who eats blood and cut him off from his people. ¹¹ For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have appointed it to you to make atonement on the altar for^[b] your lives, since it is the lifeblood that makes atonement.^{(C) 12} Therefore I say to the Israelites: None of you and no alien who resides among you may eat blood.

¹³ “Any Israelite or alien residing among them, who hunts^(D) down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten must drain its blood^(E) and cover it with dirt. ¹⁴ Since the life of every creature is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You are not to eat the blood of any creature,^(F) because the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it must be cut off.

¹⁵ “Every person, whether the native or the resident alien,^(G) who eats an animal that died a natural death or was mauled by wild beasts^(H) is to wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will remain unclean until evening; then he will be clean. ¹⁶ But if he does not wash his clothes and bathe himself, he will bear his iniquity.”

¹⁴ “If an alien resides with you and wants to observe the Passover to the Lord,^(A) he is to do it according to the Passover statute and its ordinances. You are to apply the same statute to both the resident alien and the native of the land.”^(B)

²⁶ The entire Israelite community and the alien who resides among them will be forgiven, since it happened to all the people unintentionally.

²⁹ You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or an alien who resides among you.

¹⁰ Then the one who gathers up the cow’s ashes must wash his clothes, and he will remain unclean until evening. This is a permanent statute for the Israelites and for the alien who resides among them.

¹⁵ These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the alien or temporary resident among them, so that anyone who kills a person unintentionally may flee there.
