Exodus 12:5-7
Common English Bible
5 Your lamb should be a flawless year-old male. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 You should keep close watch over it until the fourteenth day of this month. At twilight on that day, the whole assembled Israelite community should slaughter their lambs. 7 They should take some of the blood and smear it on the two doorposts and on the beam over the door of the houses in which they are eating.

New International Version
5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect,(A) and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month,(B) when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.(C) 7 Then they are to take some of the blood(D) and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
