5 The lamb for you must be a male, without defect, in its first year; you will take it from the sheep or from the goats.
6 “You will keep it[a] until the fourteenth day of this month, and all the assembly of the community of Israel will slaughter it at twilight.[b] 7 And they will take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel on the houses in which they eat it.

New International Version
5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect,(A) and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month,(B) when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.(C) 7 Then they are to take some of the blood(D) and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
