New International Version

¹⁸So God led^(A) the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.^[a] The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.^(B)

²⁰They set out from Succoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness.

²⁰After leaving Sukkoth^(A) they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.^(B)
