Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. And (A)no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters. And you shall (B)tell your son in that day, saying, ‘This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’ It shall be as (C)a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.

Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders. On that day tell your son,(A) ‘I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand(B) and a reminder on your forehead(C) that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.(D)
