²⁵ He jammed^[a] the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting^(A) for them against Egypt.”^(B)

³⁰ The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight^(A) for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,

²² Do not be afraid^(A) of them;^(B) the Lord your God himself will fight^(C) for you.”

¹⁴ There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting^(A) for Israel!

⁴² All these kings and their lands Joshua conquered in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought^(A) for Israel.

² summoned all Israel—their elders,^(A) leaders, judges and officials^(B)—and said to them: “I am very old.^(C)

²⁹ The fear^(A) of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought^(B) against the enemies of Israel.

²⁰ Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet,^(A) join us there. Our God will fight^(B) for us!”
