And (A)I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them, and I will (B)get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, (C)and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the (D)mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” So he made ready his chariot and took his army with him, and took (E)six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them. And (F)the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the people of Israel while (G)the people of Israel were going out defiantly. The (H)Egyptians pursued them, all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them (I)encamped at the sea, by Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.

When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled,(E) Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds(F) about them and said, “What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!” So he had his chariot made ready and took his army with him. He took six hundred of the best chariots,(G) along with all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them. The Lord hardened the heart(H) of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly.(I) The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses(J) and chariots, horsemen[a] and troops(K)—pursued the Israelites and overtook(L) them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.(M)
