Exodus 16:15-17
International Children’s Bible
15 When the Israelites saw it, they asked each other, “What is that?” They asked this question because they did not know what it was.
So Moses told them, “This is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. 16 The Lord has commanded, ‘Each one of you must gather what he needs. Gather about two quarts for every person in your family.’”
17 So the people of Israel did this. Some people gathered much, and some gathered little.

New International Version
15 When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know(A) what it was.
Moses said to them, “It is the bread(B) the Lord has given you to eat. 16 This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Everyone is to gather as much as they need. Take an omer[a](C) for each person you have in your tent.’”
17 The Israelites did as they were told; some gathered much, some little.
