34 Aaron followed the Lord's instructions and put the manna in front of the sacred chest for safekeeping. 35-36 (A) The Israelites ate manna for 40 years, before they came to the border of Canaan that was a settled land.[a]

New International Version
34 As the Lord commanded Moses, Aaron put the manna with the tablets of the covenant law,(A) so that it might be preserved. 35 The Israelites ate manna(B) forty years,(C) until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Canaan.(D)
