12 But the hands of Moses were heavy, and they took a stone and placed it under him, and he sat on it; Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on each side,[a] and his hands were steady until sundown.[b] 13 And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.[c]

14 And Yahweh said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in the scroll and recite it in the hearing of[d] Joshua, because I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens.”

12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.(A) 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite(B) army with the sword.

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write(C) this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out(D) the name of Amalek(E) from under heaven.”
