12 Moses’ hands grew heavy as he tired, so they took a stone and placed it under him as a stool. Aaron and Hur stood on either side and held up his hands. Thus, his hands were held steady until the sun set. 13 Joshua defeated Amalek and its people, putting them to the sword.

14 The Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it to Joshua: I will totally cancel the memory of Amalek from under the heavens.”

12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.(A) 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite(B) army with the sword.

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write(C) this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out(D) the name of Amalek(E) from under heaven.”
