³ But the people thirsted there for water; and ^[a]they ^(A)grumbled against Moses and said, “Why, now, have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill ^[b]us and ^[c]our children and ^[d](B)our livestock with thirst?”

¹⁹ Again, the sons of Israel said to him, “We will go up by the highway, and if I and ^(A)my livestock do drink any of your water, ^(B)then I will ^[a]pay its price. Let me only pass through on my feet, ^[b]nothing else.”

Reuben and Gad Settle in Gilead

32 Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had an ^(A)exceedingly large number of livestock. So when they saw the land of ^(B)Jazer and the land of Gilead, that ^[a]it was indeed a place suitable for livestock,
