Exodus 17:6-8

6 I am going to stand there in front of you on the rock at Horeb; when you hit the rock, water(A) will come out of it and the people will drink.” Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 He named the place Massah[a] and Meribah[b](B) because the Israelites complained, and because they tested the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
The Amalekites Attack
8 At Rephidim, Amalek[c](C) came and fought against Israel.

Exodus 17:6-8
New International Version
6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.(A) Strike(B) the rock, and water(C) will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 And he called the place Massah[a](D) and Meribah[b](E) because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
The Amalekites Defeated
8 The Amalekites(F) came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.(G)
