⁸ Moses told his father-in-law about everything the Lord had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake and about all the hardships^(A) they had met along the way and how the Lord had saved^(B) them.

¹⁹ Do not pervert justice^(A) or show partiality.^(B) Do not accept a bribe,^(C) for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent.

³ Brothers and sisters,^(A) choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit^(B) and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them^(C)
