¹⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate^(A) them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes^(B)

¹⁴ After Moses had gone down the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes.^(A)

¹⁵ Then he said to the people, “Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain^(A) from sexual relations.”

⁷ “‘Consecrate yourselves^(A) and be holy,^(B) because I am the Lord your God.^(C)

¹⁸ “Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves^(A) in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed,^(B) “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!”^(C) Now the Lord will give you meat,^(D) and you will eat it.

¹³ “Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves^(A) in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.

⁵ Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate^(A) yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.

⁵ When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified.^(A) Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering^(B) for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned^(C) and cursed God^(D) in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.
