Exodus 2:13-15

¹³ Now he went out ^(A)the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were ^[a]fighting with each other; and he said to the ^[b]offender, “Why are you striking your companion?” ¹⁴ But he said, “^(B)Who made you a ^[c]ruler and a judge over us? Do you ^[d]intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known!”

Moses Escapes to Midian

¹⁵ When Pharaoh heard about this matter, he tried to kill Moses. But ^(C)Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh and ^[e]settled in the land of Midian, and he sat down ^(D)by a well.
