17 Then the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses rose up, and [b]defended them, and watered their sheep.
18 And when they came to Reuel their [c]father, he said, How are ye come so soon today?

16 Now a priest of Midian(A) had seven daughters, and they came to draw water(B) and fill the troughs(C) to water their father’s flock. 17 Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue(D) and watered their flock.(E)
18 When the girls returned to Reuel(F) their father, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?”
