10 If a man deliver unto his neighbor to keep ass, or ox, or sheep, or any beast, and it die, or be [a]hurt, or taken away by enemies, and no man see it,

11 [b]An oath of the Lord shall be between them twain, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbor’s good, and the owner of it shall take the oath, and he shall not make it good:

12 (A)But if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.

10 “If anyone gives a donkey, an ox, a sheep or any other animal to their neighbor for safekeeping(A) and it dies or is injured or is taken away while no one is looking, 11 the issue between them will be settled by the taking of an oath(B) before the Lord that the neighbor did not lay hands on the other person’s property. The owner is to accept this, and no restitution is required. 12 But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution(C) must be made to the owner.
