11 There shall be an oath between them, that he did not put forth his hand to his neighbour's goods: and the owner shall accept of the oath; and he shall not be compelled to make restitution.
12 But if it were taken away by stealth, he shall make the loss good to the owner.
13 If it were eaten by a beast, let him bring to him that which was slain, and he shall not make restitution.

New International Version
11 the issue between them will be settled by the taking of an oath(A) before the Lord that the neighbor did not lay hands on the other person’s property. The owner is to accept this, and no restitution is required. 12 But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution(B) must be made to the owner. 13 If it was torn to pieces by a wild animal, the neighbor shall bring in the remains as evidence and shall not be required to pay for the torn animal.(C)
