²¹“Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner,^(A) for you were foreigners^(B) in Egypt.

²¹Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

²“Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice^(A) by siding with the crowd,^(B)

²Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:

¹⁸He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow,^(A) and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.^(B)

¹⁸He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
