⁹ “^(A)You shall not oppress a ^[a]stranger, since you yourselves know the ^[b]feelings of a ^[c]stranger, for you also were ^[d]strangers in the land of Egypt.

³³ ‘^(A)When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. ³⁴ The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and ^(B)you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.

Of Poor Countrymen

³⁵ ‘^(A)Now in case a ^[a]countryman of yours becomes poor and his ^[b]means with regard to you falter, then you are to sustain him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.

¹⁶ “Then I charged your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your ^[a]fellow countrymen, and ^(A)judge righteously between a man and his ^[b]fellow countryman, or the alien who is with him.

^19 (A)So show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

¹⁹ ‘^(A)Cursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, ^[a]orphan, and widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁰ and ^(A)do not oppress the widow or the ^[a]orphan, the ^[b]stranger or the poor; and do ^(B)not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’
